Support group meetings

The monthly meetings are an informal gathering of local people with MND, their partners and any family members or carers who’d like to come along. It’s a chance to meet and share a couple of hours with those who are experiencing, or have experienced the same situations, and swap stories but, most importantly, make new friends. There’s always tea, coffee, biscuits or cake and, occasionally, we’ll have a speaker or, even more occasionally, a canine friend will visit!

During August, instead of a meeting, an outing is arranged and we have been to such diverse places as The New Forest Reptile Centre. trips up the Hamble & Wareham Rivers and even a daytime variety show. These are usually followed by lunch at a local hostelry!

The three warm and comfortable venues are easily accessible, with full facilities and parking. If anyone, who would like to come to these meetings, has difficulty with transport or costs then please do ring and let us know, we can help with those.

The MNDA volunteers who help at these meetings are not qualified to give medical advice and information.

We appreciate coming to such a meeting for the first time, can be very daunting, which is natural but you’d be welcomed by a warm, friendly atmosphere and plenty of smiles & laughter.
