In October 2008, Andrew and Christopher Mills, sons of local branch committee member Judith Mills, both took part in the Great South Run in Portsmouth.

 

Andrew completed the 10 mile course in 1 hour 24 minutes and Christopher in 1 hour 26 minutes. It was a wet day in Portsmouth and the last two miles, running into a head wind along the Portsmouth promenade, was not for the faint hearted.

 

They were, of course, supported by their mother who acted as driver, team coach, kit carrier and cheer-leader. Roger Widdecombe, the regional fundraiser for the South East was also on hand to provide support and much needed refreshments at the end of the 10 miles.

 

Altogether, they raised over £600 for the MND Association.
