The 'A' team turned up from 8.30am and were soon busy putting up tables, emptying cars, putting up roadside notices, blowing up balloons, setting up refreshment tables as well as catching up with those friends we hadn't seen for a while.

The doors opened at 10.30am, although one or two 'stray' visitors did manage to evade our 'bouncers' ,but as long as they spent some money, then we didn't mind.

As usual, our bakers did us proud and the cake stall was groaning under the weight of fruit cakes, sponges, eccles cakes, cupcakes and cheese scones. The popularity of this stall together with the fact that, when the doors closed the stall had sold out, again confirmed that everyone loves home made cake!

It was a lovely festive atmosphere with the colourful stalls and tables and lots of our visitors and guests, remarked on what a warm and friendly greeting they had from all the volunteers. There seemed to be lot of chat and laughter too!!

Although the weather could have been kinder to us and there were other Christmas attractions in the area, we raised £976 for the branch! A wonderful amount, a great day for the team and the branch.

Happy Christmas all!"

Party at the beach

Party at the Beach for MND

On January 13th, 150 friends and family of Annie Allen danced the night away at the Jazz Café, Sandbanks to raise funds for the branch.

Annie, who is from Poole, and living with MND, arranged the fundraiser as a thank you, to not only her friends and family, but also the branch.

Live music courtesy of RJ Soul Coasters and Brass Monkeys went down a storm and Burnbake Forest lodges on the Isle of Purbeck very generously donated the evening’s star prize – a mid week holiday in one of their luxury lodge!

The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all and raised £1349.72 to help the branch support those living with MND in the area.
