MOBILE PHONE RECYCLING APPEAL

New Milton “Blue” Ladies Fundraising

Any old unwanted mobile phone, just the handset no charger or SIM card needed, can raise between £3 and £30 for the MNDA.  Local schools and businesses are taking part in this project for us.  Should you have an unwanted old mobile lying around, I bet you have, please bring it to any meeting or pass onto any committee member. They will be passed to Mike Hardy who will arrange a courier pick up. Thanks to all of you who have donated mobile phones with a special thanks to the Tax Office

Mark Anness is “On His Bike” again raising funds for the MNDA

Scroll down for details

Richard Dawson and 9 “Recruits” aka Team Beer View Mirrors are doing a 3 Peaks walk in aid of MNDA

Scroll further down for details

Richard says:-

Well we are certainly taking on this challenge head-on, I have managed to recruit 9 others to join me on the 8th of June 2012.

The team are sporting a strange name! “Team Beer View Mirrors”

Just to explain our wacky team name - it’s a play on words, you look back in your rear view mirror - we are not looking back we are looking forward! So rear view mirror became beer view mirror !  as we expect to have a couple of beers when we finish.

The disease had sadly seen the loss of two fathers of our team The Dawson's and Neil Purdue and we are walking in their memory and to help raise much needed funds for research.

The Team:

Myself Richard Dawson, Brothers Michael Dawson and Andy Dawson all originally from New Milton, Richard now lives in High Wycombe, Michael lives in Wimborne, and Andrew in Bournemouth

Neil Purdue originally from Bransgore

Andrew Wowkula, Richard’s old school mate from Arnewood, from New Milton and now lives in Burton.

Adrian Logan originally Richard’s old school mate from Arnewood, from New Milton and now lives in Devon.

Kathryn Melhuish - The Dawson Cousin

Matt Baxter - Karthyns boyfriend.

Dave Simpson - Richard’s ex work mate who he’s known for 10 years.

David Baldwin - Richard met Dave through NCT classes when Richard’s Daughter was born.

So that’s the team - we all vary in fitness myself being the worse off I would say.

Awareness tricks..

I have had car magnets made up advertising our walk and to help raise awareness, they are really doing the job !

The picture above is of  myself and my brothers sporting one of the magnets. I get the thumbs up from many a passer by !

I am also in conversation with Absolute Software as they have agreed to track us live up and down the peaks and display our progress on their social media outlets - great for awareness - and it means we can’t take any short cuts.

this time Paris to Geneva - a longer and tougher ride
